People treat 3T like a gravel startup because of the Exploro, which is funny if you already owned one of their stems. Mario Dedioniggi set up 3TTT in Turin in 1961, Tecnologia del Tubo Torino, and for a long time that meant bars and stems, because the company spent decades as a cockpit house before it sold a frame. The Exploro is what made civilians look up, though they still build road bikes in Italy too.
