Cino Cinelli tried to sell his ideas to the big Italian factories and they weren't interested, so he started his own shop in Milan in 1948. Bars and stems paid the bills. Frames were the smaller part, which is why a lot of people still think Cinelli is a parts company. Super Corsa is the road bike that stuck. They never really left Milan.
