Max Commencal put his own name on bikes and parked the company in Andorra. French guy, Andorran brand, which is why the origin story never sits still in write-ups. He came out of the DH world and built a company in the Pyrenees microstate because that's where he was, so Commencal is Andorra, and the rest is people wanting it to be French.
