Independent Fabrication exists because Fat City died in Somerville and a group of the builders refused to clock out for good. They formed IF in 1995, later moved the shop to a mill in Newmarket, New Hampshire. They still make custom frames in steel and titanium, plus carbon when someone asks, and the name is just a description of how the company started.
