Leo Kokkonen started Pole in the basement of an old bakery in Jyväskylä in 2013. Finland, a lakeside city, not Helsinki. He wanted a bike nobody was selling, so he built one, which is the kind of origin that sounds made up and isn't. The bakery part is real.
