RAAW is Ruben Torenbeek, a Dutch engineer who was already working at Ghost and Scott and then quit to make his own bike in the Allgäu, in Kempten, Germany. The first one was the Madonna. People call it a German brand and that's true enough, but the founder isn't German. He just started the company there.
