René Herse was a French constructeur in the mid-century randonneur world. The company you can order from now is Jan Heine's old Compass shop in the Seattle area, which took the Herse name in 2019 after years of selling tires and components under Compass, with the bikes coming back once the name was already on the rubber. The two histories keep getting folded into one paragraph.
