Jon Whyte came out of Formula 1 suspension work, Benetton, and the bike brand is 1999. The company underneath, ATB Sales, is older, 1987, so a lot of listings collapse those into one date. He left, and they kept the name, first as a UK mountain-bike company and later with road and gravel in the catalog.
