Giovanni Pinarello got paid out of his racing contract and opened Cicli Pinarello in Treviso. 1952, or 1953 if you believe the pages that copied Wikipedia. Either way it's the same shop, and they're still there. They still mostly make race bikes. There's a gravel bike now (Grevil) but that only showed up after decades of being a road-race shop.
