Mike Sinyard started Specialized in 1974 by importing Italian parts, first out of a trailer and then a garage in San Jose. Morgan Hill is HQ now, and has been for a long time. They make road bikes and gravel and CX and mountain bikes now, and they got big without leaving that part of California.
